MMAJunkie is reporting the possibility of a lightweight bout between Tyson Griffin and Jim Miller at UFC 108 on January 2nd.
Tyson Griffin looked really impressive at UFC 103 by finishing Hermes Franca by TKO. Griffin is looking to move into title contention and a win over Miller could propel him very close to the title shot.
Jim Miller also has been impressive in the UFC with only UFC loss coming at the hands of Gray Maynard. Miller, a solid wrestler from Virginia Tech is a top tiered fighter looking to move up the ranks.
The winner of this bout would be in the top 5 in the UFC lightweight division. It is also expected that Gray Maynard could have cemented the number one contender spot with his win over Roger Huerta. It would also seem that the Edgar vs. Pellegrino fight at the Ultimate Fghter 10 Finale would have title shot implications as would the UFC 107 Florian vs. Guida fight.
UFC 108 appears to be a stacked card leading to further speculation that Anderson Silva may not be ready to fight Vitor Belfort on January 2.
