Dutch MMA fighter Melvin Manhoef has reportedly signed a deal with Strikeforce. The tough middleweight fighter will likely debut soon. In fact, it is rumored that he is under consideration to fight Robbie Lawler on December 19. Strikeforce executive Mike Afromowitz today confirmed the signing today with MMAJunkie.
Manhoef has shown very good striking ability, but he has a very suspect ground game. In fact he lost his last bout to Paulo Filho at DREAM 10 by submission. Despite the loss to Filho, Manhoef holds a 23-6-1 record in MMA and also holds an impressive 37-8 kickboxing record. Manhoef holds notable wins over Kazushi Sakuraba, Crosley Gracie, Ian Freeman and Evangelista Santos.
Manhoef is a solid addition to the Strikeforce roster which keeps building steam.
