It looks as though Versus and Zuffa will air a coutndown show for the WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber pay per view event and it will air on April 21st. The show will be similar to the UFC countdown shows which have aired on SPIKE. The countdown shows have been a great way to promote UFC pay per views and the number of viewers have always been a barometer for the success of a pay per view event.
Oddly the show will first air at 4:00 PM ET on April 21st. Then countdown show will also show on April 23rd at 5:00 PM and April 24th at 6:00 PM. Set your DVR’s to record the first WEC countdown show.
It is good to see the featherweights get some good exposure and it will be great to see Faber, Aldo, Henderson and Cerrone training and talking prior to the fight.
WEC 48 will mark the promotions debut into the pay per view market. The event will be headlined by two title fights including a featherweight title match between champion Jose Aldo and former champion Urijah Faber. Also, a lightweight title fight between champion Ben Henderson and contender Donald Cerrone. WEC 48 takes plays April 24th. Click here for the complete fight card and event information.
