WEC 50 Taking Shape Nicely

WEC 50 is set for August 18 in Las Vegas and the event appears to be a good one. It looks to be headlined by a bantamweight title fight between champion Dominick Cruz and challenger Joseph Benavidez.

Cruz won the title by defeateing Brian Bowles. Benavidez will get a re-match with Cruz after big wins over Rani Yahya and Miguel Torres.

Also on the card will be the bantamweight debut of Urijah Faber. The former featherweight champion will drop down a weight class and take on former number one contender Takeya Mizugaki.

Shane Roller is also slated for a fight with Anthony Pettis in what could determine a number one contender in the lightweight division.

In my opinion, the card could be a stellar pay per view card if the expected featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Manny Gamburyan took place here. However, don;t hold your breath. I expect that fight to take place in September and the August event to air on Versus.
