Impact FC put on shows on consecutive weekends in Australia. The fights were decent, but nothing to write home about. However, I think that the impact will be felt in the world of mixed martial arts. Several notable fighters fought on those cards who are likely to find homes in a big organization. Karo Parisyan may get another chance in the UFC following his win. Paul Daley may get a chance with an organization like Bellator or Strikeforce following his victory over Daniel Acacio. Josh Barnett ought to be back on the radar and I would bet Strikeforce is a good possibility. Pedro Rizzo could also go to a big organization although a win over the aged Ken Shamrock is not that impressive. Sokoudjou is back in the win column and could end up with DREAM or Strikeforce. Jeff Monson notched a win which could earn him a big promotion deal, although Monson likes staying active and fighting in smaller shows. Murilo “Ninja” Rua wasn’t impressive, but he won and I wouldn;t be shocked if the UFC came calling. I have been calling for Glover Teixiera to the UFC for a while now and his win at Impact FC 2 solidifies him as a top prospect. He is signed with the Canadian promotion MFC currently. Neither Filho or Kang did anything to impress ending their fight in a draw. Also, I think that several of the Australian fighters featured on the card could getc alls from the UFC since they are looking to expand their market in Australia.
Keep watch on the signings and see what impact Impact FC has.
