10 TUF Elimination Round Upsets

Every season since the Ultimate Fighter season 7, except season 10 the reality show has feautred an elimination round.  The fighters have fought their way into the house.  Each season it seems that an upset takes place and a fighter that one may expect to do well in the show lsoes before they even make it to the house.  Here is a list of the top 10.

10. Aaron Meisner – Meisner was a highly rated prospect before losing to Brandon Sene in the elimination10 Guys  rounds.  He hasn’t done much since, going a combined 3-3.

9. Joseph Duffy – A highly regarded Irish lightweight who many expected to win the show.  Duffy was submitted int he opening round by Kyle Watson.  Duffy still has an unblemished record.

8.. Mike Richman -Another highly regarded TUF 12er who lost in the elimination round.  He lost to Aaron Wilkinson.  He too is unblished and is better fit for 145 lbs.

7. J.J. Ambrose – The AKA trained Ambrose also lost in the TUF 12 elimination rounds to Sevak Magakian.  He has gone 2-0 since.

6. Victor O’Donnell – He is still a  highly regarded prospect who many expected to do well in the show.  However, Victor ran into Chris Camozzi and lost.

5. Che Mills – Was thought to be the best U.K. welterweight on the USA vs. U.K. season, but he lost to eventual winner James Wilks.

4. Costantinos Philipou – He came onto the show following a win over Victor O’Donnell.  However, he shockingly lost to Joe Henle in the elimination rounds.  Costa is still a highly thought of prospect who may make his way back to the UFC.

3. Antwain Britt – Britt actually won his fight, but he broke his hand and never made it into the house.  Britt has had some success with Strikeoforce following his TUF stint.  He would have been a favorite to win the season.

2. Jordan Smith -It was a huge shock when the much hyped Smith got Ko’d by Brad Tavares.  Smith was highly touted and still is by many.

1. Ryan Jimmo – He actually lost to Antwain Britt in the elimination rounds.  He may have deserved to be his replacement too.  Jimmo has done well since the show and will fight for the MFC light heavyweight title soon.  Many consider Jimmo to be Canada’s best light heavyweight fighter.
